Sunday saw the return of Suffolk Dog Day, the county’s top event for canines and their humans. After a two-year break, the event was bigger and better than ever before attracting over 5,000 visitors.
Described as the Pawfect day out, there was plenty to do including fun dog classes, have-a-go agility, entertainment and demonstrations.
New for 2022, saw the introduction of the Pound Gates Happy Hub, a chill-out area and an opportunity to meet local charities who have benefitted from the funds raised at previous events. Visitors met with Our Special Friends, an animal companionship charity and the Rural Coffee Caravan who help to create connection and combat loneliness in rural areas of the county.
Suffolk Dog Day is organised by Suffolk Community Foundation, who are the largest grantmaker to the voluntary sector in Suffolk. They seek to rebuild local lives in a compassionate, respectful and sustainable way. Funds raised from the day will go towards supporting their work.
We were proud to co-headline sponsor this year’s event, to help raise awareness for the amazing work of the Foundation. You can find out more about our Acorn Fund, our partnership with Suffolk Community Foundation here.
